To close out the weekend vacation
Saturday errands were run on Tuesday with a stop
once again
at Jack Kerouac's Place
to see what was left as offerings to the Great Writer
usually a plethora of items from change, pens, paper, poems to
stones, cigarettes, books, beer, wine and whiskey bottles,
plus an occasional marijuana cigarette or roach;
this day...
not so much.

T'Bone & Da Butcha at the
Newly Reno'd Lady of Lourdes Grotto
(a poem in pictures)
T'Bone & Da Butcha make another stop on the Kerouac Trail,
Lowell's Lady of Lourdes Grotto,
construction began, May 15, 1911
by contractor Jean Baptiste Morin
and was complete by the time our local Pote and Author,
Jean Louis Kerouac, Ti Jean, John, Jack, Kerouac
was growing up in MIll City and featured in Doctor Sax
and other works by the world famous Beat King.
The site fell on hard times and disrepair when the French School closed,
the school was sold to a developer for luxury condo conversion,
which could have been the death knell for the Grotto,
instead it was good news for the Sacred Site,
for it was restored with the help of community donations and corporate grants;
an ongoing project that realigned the Stations of the Cross
from a path leading to the Grotto from the street
to a walkway around the rear of the Grotto from the front and both ends of the access stairs to the foot of the cross;
