a film, Go Moan For Man, 1999, newly released on DVD,

and a lecture, by Paul Marion, editor of Atop an Underwood, early writings of Jack Kerouac,

lecture topic, Kerouac and Lowtown 1930 - 2023,

LCK Prez, Mike Flynn, intros Paul Marion, local writer.

Movie and Lecture very entertaining and educational.

A quick luncheon and Jeffie da Pooh splits for home and his Little Paul.

Parting Rant

Historical Place Name Changes

Name change being considered for Beantown's Faneuil Hall

because Peter Faneuil, an important figure in the history of the city

and the builder of Faneuil Hall, apparently owned slaves or something,

which completely invalidates every other thing Mr. Faneuil did for the budding

United States of America.

People, changing place names like Dudley Square to Nubian Square

does not change history, it already happened and is in the books,

the best thing to do, keep these names in place and teach the history to our children,

either that or we got to change the names on everything,

Washington DC, gotta change it, George Washington owned slaves,

Jefferson City, gotta change it, Thomas Jefferson owned slaves,

Jefferson Davis was the President of the Confederate States,

Franklin, gotta change it, Benjamin Franklin was a womanizer;

you see the slippery slope we get onto when we start Black Washing History?

and that's my rant for this blog.
