Welcome to
How to Write a Free Verse Poem 101
Are you sitting comfortably? Pen, Pencil, Stylus, or Crayon in hand?
Journal, Diary, Legal Pad, Laptop-PC-Word-Notes, or Scrap Paper at the ready?
Great, let us begin...
First, in a space free of distractions, den, cellar, walk in closet, garden-she shed, bedroom,
light a candle, some incense, spin some music on the deck, cellie, headphones,
stereo speakers, any type, ABBA to Zappa, Bach to Glass, Rock, Jazz, Industrial,
set the mood, incite inspiration,
if you have roommates, spouse, partner, children,
one needs to hide out, undisturbed,
lock the door and silence the phone.
Second, partake in an Adult Creative Catalyst or two,
if one is so inclined, as one reclines in a comfy chair,
Third, clear the mind to blank as the paper on the writing desk, laptop,
forget all you know or think you know about 21st Century Poetry,
discard box of acceptable subject matter,
nothing is sacred, nothing is impossible,
all limitations are self imposed,
meditate on the moment, the setting, the head space,
remember the work of artistic influences over the years,
forget all you know or think you know about 21st Century Art
percolate, simmer, heat, juices to flow,

hear it speak, listen to its wide open possibilities....

line of streets, rooves, church steeple
dancing skellitrees;
Helios shines bright
chariot light illumines
descends past tree tops;
queer bachelor pad
diamond plate porch glass slider
indoor plant greenhouse
fire up juicy flower
afternoon rays warm cool breeze;
inspirational
Goddess Lambs Breath infuses
multi'verse flows free...

Breathe deep eves fresh air
Ra sets brilliance upon town
end of day blessing;
wind chimes lullaby
gentle notes calm rushing souls
exorcises woes;
tubbies and showers
clean jammies, healing powers
troubles in hamper
with which machine will tamper
revisit garden bowers;
brown bread, franks 'n' beans
Abbott, Costello Movie
youths Saturday night.

Wow...Temps are dropping and I just realized that I am missing my fave hat.
I have had it for years
and always received compliments when I wore it. it's gorgeous and practical.
I call it my Winnie Mandela hat.
I bought it back when I had my vintage clothing store in Brookline.
A South African woman who made and sold hats stopped in to show/sell her hats.
I admired the hat and she gifted it to me which makes it very special to me.
Please say a prayer for me that I find it.
I mention the hat and request for prayer because I have some "well intentioned friends"
who frequently criticize my fashion style, clothes etc. which includes my fave hat.
Upside, you should have seen the looks on their faces
when I got compliments from strangers on my hat!
