Tropicana Resort Hotel and Casino

     We're In!

     Now to find room 1516, Chelsea Tower...through the casino of course, gambling, bells,

whistles, music, flashing lights...CIGARETTE SMOKE!

     It's a labyrinth, a maze...

     Amazed, we find our room with a view of the boardwalk and beachfront from the 15th floor, no

porch or terrace...damn.

     Test the bathroom fan for strength in ventilation, great draw! It'll suck steam right out!

     We talk a walk, take a walk, walk on the Boardwalk for a sunset mimosa float on the beach

and a leisurely post cruise down stroll.

     We return to the Tropicana Casino beach entrance, find our way back through the maze to

Broadway Burger for late dinner...7:00 pm.

Dinner Then Sleep

     I'll not bore you with dinner 411, suffice to say...beef and turkey burgers were tasty and

hit the spot; some authentic gelato to wash it down as we stroll the mall back to the room

and I do mean Mall, as in shopping, from hats to crepes and electronic gambling machines,

digital one armed bandits, none of that analogue, mechanical, randomness.

     We are not tempted, plenty of time to gamble away hard earned duckets, we're done,

beat, exhausted from the drive and now we're full of food.

     We chillax and recap the day, then it's off to bed...after a little tv.

     Not too early, mind you, don't want to rise at the crack 'o' crack...we're on...

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N...VACATION!

     We drove out of rainy, raw, front, into sunny sky with puffy, white top, grey bottom clouds,

Thanks, God!

     As we walked the Boardwalk we came to an abandoned and shuttered casino - entertainment

complex, facade tearing away, a'peeling; from afar we saw it was The Hilton, lettering long ago

removed, only a fading outline remains.  Sign 'o' da times, casinos popping up everywhere

across the lower 48 states, folks have a choice 'tween Las Vegas and Reno, NV, and Atlantic

City, NJ, gambling towns recreated themselves into more family friendly destinations then...

Covid did it's thing...

     Oliver's Restaurant is closed and I'm sure we'll see more vacant storefronts along the beach.
