Graveyard scenes along the ridge
Chief Autumn Tree, Queen of Poetry, becomes a tree,
Meditating on Verse, Spoken Word, and Syllables, CAT smells the roses;
"Careful ladies, leaves may be slick and there are rocks!" Obi warns,
DaS Mann checks out a headstone; CAT, KITTEN, & DaS, toss ideas about poetically;
"Come to Writers Row...WE LOVED IT!"
Yep, pissin' on...Don...Concord Meeting House, wicked pissah setting.
Finish off trip to Concord with a walk in the woods, Long Pond, part of the Skyline Trail,
& Obi recalls the cabin on the site, all that remains, garbage dumps and concrete
the cabin burned down in the 1980's, sad, let's wash that feeling away and walk in
LOWTOWN! Under the Aiken Street Bridge, along the Merrimack River,
behind, in front of converted mills, and here's something one doesn't often see,
the canals drained for maintenance, 1800's Engineering & Architecture,
slow ruin of industry awaits us all!
Construction Workers, repair the destruction, note Penstock, which we'll explore,
in the coming month, but first, heavy equipment, instead of manpower,
manpower that built the mills all those years ago, Boott Mills Gate House and spillway,
under the mill & into another canal sluiceway,
and down into the Merrimack River; drained canal that feeds the Penstock,
evidence of building under which waterway flowed,
shadows and light and debris, natural and other,
where the canal went into a mill no longer standing; ladder to Heaven...?
