Freak Central

Burned The Man last night,

virtually, probably,

Black Rock map destroyed,

Temporary Town

springs up in playa wasteland

for 12 days a year;

artists, musicians,

rocket scientists, poets,

from all walks of life,

mad costumes, shade structures, bars,

art cars, bikes, and Center Camp,

attend, learn some things,

expand thinking, blow mindset,

get icon tattoo...

3,500

feet above ocean level,

prehistoric sea,

alcalai playa sand floor,

ecological wonder

and fifty thousand

attendees build up - tear down,

Leave No City Trace.

hardly charred pit grates,

nature's creation of land,

underlying sand,

grazing sheep, healing, fresh spring,

facts; past myths, half truths, laid bare;

sadly, "Oasis",

replaced by, "Vernal Pool" tag,

dry land motif lost.
