Along the banks and mouth of the...

Mighty Merrimack River!

Maudslay

Rhododendron Fam'

in various bloom stages,

pink, white, red, orange;

"C'mon! Let's go on down the road!"

"WOW! Look'it this Lady Slipper!"

sunshine and shadows,

maple, oak, pine, green backdrop,

brown trunks in contrast;

riverside hills, slopes,

carriage paths, bridges, blossoms,

driveway gates, main lane,

flowering shrubs lead to manse

overlooking Merrimack;

foundations outline,

front, back, kitchen steps, terrace,

inground garbage dump;

all that remains of

grand houses of working farm,

some outbuildings stand,

italian gardens in ruins,

fields overgrown...I wonder...

where's family line?

What happened to their assets?

Imagine parties...

vs. Maudsleigh

Imagine Parties,

guests finely dressed, strolling yard,

oo'ing, aah'ing, at

SPECTACULAR! view,

Italian Gardens in bloom,

private Rhodie grove...

bright lights, live music,

cocktails on the veranda,

waltzes, jitterbugs,

six course banquet, fine desserts,

scotch, wine, champagne, coffee, tea,

merry making calls,

return to festivities,

slightly disheveled,

midnight carriage ride

around estate, riverside stop,

watch submarine race...

American Decadence

of Rich Industrialists

long gone, dead, and broke,

estate now public stands of

Rhododendron Fam'.

Last Day of Vay-Kay

The D. A's and friends,

T'Bone, Jeffie Pooh, Lil Paul,

explore estate grounds,

snap pix of Rhodies,

pals, paths, scenic river views,

blue sky and white clouds,

expansive front lawn

needs mowing, grounds keepers rake,

prune, mow other spots,

as by gone era ghosts dance

and make love in shrubberies,

shades of carriages

rattle along shaded roads,

faint image in pix;

fresh air break poolside,

biggest seen, punks graffiti'd

Fuck You Alien,

Power Puff Girl, Wraith nonsense,

perfect spot, rest and partake;

Predator vs Alien.

onward to Pumpkin,

snap artsy-fartsy photos,

and onto lunch break.

The Main Gates of...Maudsleigh!

Lunch and Seaside Fun

Panera Sammies,

Flat Bread Pizza, and Coffee,

out on the terrace;

like wealthy, Maudsleigh

Residents, guests, back in day,

how very...shi-shi,

an' den...cruise Prune Point,

Parker River Marsh Refuge,

all the way to end,

turn 'round, stop at watch tower,

look over beach and marsh land;

park in asphalt lot,

walk Hell Cat Boardwalk Loop Trail,

wetlands, dunes, up close;

no swimming allowed,

Plovers Nesting Habitat,

we're not here to swim,

in with good air,out with bad,

suckin' in that Viti' D;

Obi Wan, Lil Paul, Das Mann, T'Bone, & Jeffie the Pooh

exhaustion takes toll,

head home, drop off J and P,

go get...GELATO!

Happy Ending

(at the Think Tank)

Now, it's time to say

goodbye to all company

and vacation days,

what better way to

say so long than big bowl of

yummy gelato

before kick Das Mann

to curb to ready to work,

three day week, plus half,

goodbye and to home he goes,

T'bone heads to basement pad;

Obi Wan showers,

chills, eats left over Thai food,

watches old crime shows;

FANTASTIC WEEKEND!

Back Road Trip, Rhodi HIke, and

Bird Refuge Walkies,

PERFECT WEATHER! with some rain,

what more could we have asked for?

Praise and Thanks to God,

pray Grand Vacation Good Times,

continue...Amen.

Back Road Trip Lesson...

no more overnights with CAT,

jaunts closer to home;

spring chickens no more

in 50's & 70's,

feel agings aches, pains;

museum day trips,

no extensive walkabouts,

places to sit, rest,

comfy chair, tube, and remote,

no strenuous work outs;

Washington DC,

that was beginning of end

of travel duo.

Ah, well, all good things

must come to a close and new

activities start;

New Creations, Beginnings,

transformation continues.

Horizon's so bright,

we gotta wear shades on ride...

Thank Christ CAT still puffs.
